So its Dances with Wolves in space:
In lesser hands I wouldn’t expect much, but James Cameron is pretty much the best there is at this sort of thing.

Here’s the excuse: The White House is denying that the president bowed to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia at a G-20 meeting in London, a scene that drew criticism on the right and praise from some Arab outlets. “It wasn’t a bow. He grasped his hand with two hands, and he’s taller than King Abdullah,” said an Obama aide, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. Here’s the clip: So, [...]
I’m stealing this from AP at HotAir because it’s just so priceless. Here’s the backstory you need to appreciate this clip… A British teacher in Sudan bought her class a teddy bear. The students decided to name the bear after the most popular boy in the class. His name was Mohammad. Another student told his parents about Mohammad the bear and all hell broke loose. The teacher was arrested for [...]
This could be fun: Sort of hard to believe this is going to get an actual release in theaters though. I guess it could happen. [Via Nice Deb from Weasel Zippers]John on October 31, 2009 at 9:33 am

This is becoming more and more interesting.
I may actually shell out $12 bucks on a ticket to see this rather than wait for the DVD release.
Can you still sneak beer into a theater?
October 31, 2009 @ 9:47 pmYeah, you’re gonna need some sort of alcoholic beverage to get through the ‘message’ of the flick. Better make it two.
I love James Cameron and-Titanic notwithstanding-he’s made some truly awesome flicks in his time. Still, I just don’t think I have it in me to watch yet another film where the military gets slagged as imperialists, no matter how rockin’ the movie looks.
November 1, 2009 @ 6:38 amYup. I’ll save my bucks and use it elsewhere. I’m tired of Hollywood pukes trashing people who try to make a real difference and who put their lives on the line to do it.

November 1, 2009 @ 12:46 pmTotally agree with KingShamus & Bingo on this one – BTW did anyone catch the “splice commercial” of the World Series with this movie last night before the game? It was ridiculous! What do Avatar and baseball have in common – duh, NOTHING! Just had me shaking my head – but I’ve been doing that a lot lately!
November 2, 2009 @ 11:51 amJames Cameron has demonstrated consistently that he is a master filmmaker. However, the Avatar trailer seems to show that he has left his story telling past behind and gone full scale into the dark side. Apparently, the viewer is supposed to take the side of the aliens against the humans. Uhm, no thanks. That’s too far for me to leap. It’s as if Aliens was turned upside down and we were supposed to root for the monsters against the Marines. I think I’ll skip this one.
