As John mentioned earlier this week, we are both attending the Western CPAC conference in Newport Beach which starts tonight and runs through tomorrow. We were granted the honor of being part of the official “bloggers row“, and so although I honestly am just happy to be here, we will be providing coverage of the event here on VS. Tim Pawlenty is the key note speaker tonight, and it looks like Meg Whitman will be making some comments as well.
I think it’s undeniable that the grassroots conservative movement is gaining momentum. As evidenced by the attendance at all the tea party rallies around the country, and the vocal opposition to ObamaCare at town hall meetings throughout the summer. But it’s going to be important to translate this grassroots energy into electoral success heading into the mid-terms next year. And it’s critical that we all pay close attention during the lead-up to the coming election to make sure the candidates we are supporting truly represent the conservative agenda.
In other words, events like this are important and I look forward to sharing my thoughts on the speakers who are here.
If you aren’t already doing so you can follow us on Twitter here. Most likely we will tweet some comments during the speeches tonight, and then do a wrap-up post later this evening or tomorrow morning.
And if you are in the area, registration is still open here at the Radisson Hotel. Come and see us!
