A Spank Too Far?!?

What would life be like if there wasn’t someone around to tell me how to handle every aspect of my life? How did people live 300 years ago when there wasn’t a political party around to enlighten them as to how wrong they were in how they lived life? The only thing I can say is, “Thank God for Democrats!”

According to The San Jose Mercury News, Democratic Assemblywoman Sally Lieber wants to outlaw spanking children up to 3 years old. No spanking, no swatting, no slapping. If the law passes, it will make corporal punishment of a child under 3 a misdemeanor, punishable by up to a year in jail or a fine up to $1,000.

“I think it’s pretty hard to argue you need to beat a child 3 years old or younger,” Lieber said. “Is it OK to whip a 1-year-old or a 6-month-old or a newborn?”
True to Democratic form, while announcing her bill Ms. Lieber didn’t waste any time before she threw in some inflamatory rhetoric and absurd, sweeping characterizations. “I think it’s pretty hard to argue you need to beat a child 3 years old or younger,” Lieber said. “Is it OK to whip a 1-year-old or a 6-month-old or a newborn?”

Beat?

Whip?

Gee…those aren’t loaded words!

The S.J.M News also pointed out that Ms. Lieber has never had any children.

I wonder if that would change her perspective?
