Back in the bad old days of the Bush administration there was much chuckling and snorting about the “axis of evil.” One of the nations in that axis runs the world’s largest series of political prison camps. The second recently beat and murdered election protesters in the streets. And the third, no thanks to Democrats like Harry Reid, has gone from fascist dictatorship under Saddam Hussein to what is now perhaps the freest Islamic country on earth.
For his part, Harry Reid did declare that terrorists were evil a few years back, so he isn’t completely opposed to the word. But now he’s gone from using it to describe terrorists to using it to describe ObamaCare protesters:
Such “evil-mongers” are using “lies, innuendo and rumor,” to drown out rational debate, Reid said.
“It was an original with me,” Reid said of the term. “I maybe could have been less descriptive,” he said, adding that “I doubt you’ll hear it from me again.”
Does anyone else think the Dems have over-played their hand quite a bit here?
