Could Baker Be More Wrong?

Former Secretary of State James Baker is currently drafting a series of Iraq recommendations at the request of members of Congress. The report hasn’t been released yet, but is already being touted by the MSM as the best thing since sliced bread. Baker’s group is expected to recommend that the US initiate talks with Iran and Syria, two nations that have been in the news a lot recently.

Syria is likely responsible for one assassination and one attempted assassination of Lebanese Christian officials last week. And after declaring his intent recently to see Israel “wiped off the map”, yesterday, Iranian President Ahmadinejad had this to say about the US in a speech broadcast on state run TV:

[T]he collapse and crumbling of your devilish rule has started.

Funny how much Ahmadinejad sounds like Michael Moore. The same report also notes:

The Iranian president also called on neighboring countries to drive out “foreign occupiers,” in a reference to U.S.-led forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.

No doubt he’ll deny he said it if asked by the US press. He has a habit of being two-faced:

And we know that James Baker has “deep” foreign policy experience. He’s way too sharp to get fooled by a smooth liar like Ahmadinejad…yeah right.
