How Does a Christian Pray Without Mentioning Jesus?

Scott on September 13, 2006 at 8:54 pm

And now for something completely different bizzare pathetic According to World Net Daily, “a military jury today convicted a Navy chaplain of a misdemeanor count of disobeying his commanding officer.”

You may be wondering what crime this chaplain committed. He was found guilty “for wearing his uniform while delivering a prayer “in Jesus’ name” at an assembly in front of the White House.”

Did you get that? A Navy chaplain (priest, pastor, reverend) was caught praying “in Jesus name.” How horrifying! How shocking! What was he thinking? I mean come on! He’s lucky they didn’t shoot him.

The next thing you know, he’ll be mentioning God during his Sunday messages and maybe suggest that Naval personnel look to the Bible for answers to some of their life-questions.

I heard that next week they’ll be putting another chaplain on trial for saying “Grace” over his meal and actually mentioning the “G” word (God) while he did so.
