House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is defiantly ignoring Rush Limbaugh and Matt Drudge — who spent much of the week nitpicking her stimulus bill on issues ranging from STD prevention funding to cash for the re-sodding the National Mall.
“I am the Speaker of the House. I don’t get into that… popular culture” she said at her weekly press conference, interrupting a questioner who asked about their impact on the stimulus debate.
Can you almost see her saying this with a British accent worthy of a Queen. But besides the plain jaw-dropping arrogance there’s the fact that it’s just not true. She had plenty of time for celebrities when she attended this film premiere with George Lucas, Robin Williams, Walter Murch, Brad Bird, Andrew Stanton and many more. She has also appeared on Leno and Letterman, plus other hard-hitting news shows like the Colbert Report and The View.
Sorta seems to me Speaker Pelosi makes the rounds like a C-List celebrity, not an aristocrat.
