I love the Daily Mail. I really do. It frequently does a more honest job covering US politics than domestic papers which all too frequently have an axe to grind. But once in a while their lack of familiarity with the American scene is evident, as in this snippet from today’s edition:
Republican media strategist Chris Haynes, guest hosting The Rachel Maddow Show on Monday night, also reflected on the controversy boiling over the ad.
First of all, his name is Chris Hayes, not Haynes. That may be where they got confused as there is apparently a GOP strategist by the name of Bruce Haynes. But at least they were consistent with the caption:
I don’t think anyone familiar with MSNBC’s output would have made this mistake.
