Massive strikes today as Greeks protest the new government exactly as they did the old one. The problem hasn’t changed. Greece has once again run out of other people’s money:
The protesters want things to go back to the way they were (or better). But of course that’s impossible as the Greeks owe the rest of Europe and their fellow Greeks billions of Euros. They are essentially trying to squirm out of the bill for decades of their own behavior. Problem is someone has to pay. All these protesting socialists care about is that that someone isn’t them. They want the free ride (or semi-free ride) to continue.
And here in the US we have OWS demanding an erasure of school debt. School that they signed up for and spent years taking classes for should be paid for by someone else. Why? Because they can’t afford it. These really are the same people on both sides of the Atlantic. The only way to avoid Greece’s fate is to say no now, before the accumulated sums become insurmountable.
