Christians Might Want to Avoid Trinidad

John on May 4, 2006 at 7:44 am

Two stories coming out of the Carribean island in the last several days caught my attention. One has to wonder if this story:

Trinidad’s largest Hindu organization said Tuesday it was urging the prime minister to bar American TV evangelist Benny Hinn from visiting the country, saying he will threaten the country’s religious harmony.

Is connected in any way to this story today:

Kevin and Sue Prins, who are the directors of the local arm of the Youth with a Mission (YWAM) Christian organisation, were last night listed in a stable condition at hospital.

They were shot outside their rented home when Sue Prins tried fighting off camouflage-wearing bandits who came from nearby bushes.

It’s very possible this was just a violent mugging. Then again these missionaries may have been targeted for other reasons.
