Interesting story in the NY Sun about CAIR. A lawsuit they filed against a critic operating a web site accusing them of links to terrorism has now been dismissed. The critic, whose name is Andrew Whitehead, has posted a statement on the site here.
It’s not clear, but it appears CAIR eventually paid Mr. Whitehead to settle the claim. In any case the site remains up without any changes. Among the statements no longer being contested in court:
CAIR is an “organization founded by Hamas supporters which seeks to overthrow Constitutional government in the United States and replace it with an Islamist theocracy using our own
Constitution as protection.”
The Sun article also notes that this lawsuit is one of many filed by CAIR affiliates recently in what may be an attempt to intimidate critics. Even a bogus lawsuit costs money to defend.
Congratulations to Mr. Whitehead. A loss for CAIR is a win for America.
