A lot of blogs are talking about the NC incident where an enraged Iranian student drove through a crowd of people on campus.
Getting much less attention is this story of a pro-choice woman who decided to break up a group of pro-life protesters by driving her car into the group. Her main concern was a photo of an aborted baby. She claims she was attempting to cover it up with her car.
This reaction is remarkably similar to the one the Jihadists have had to the cartoons depicting Mohammed. I think we can attribute this to a similar cause. An image crashes through the barriers surrounding an insular world used to being sheltered from any criticism by a sympathetic media.
When it comes to abortion, the NY Times is about as honest as the Tehran Times. As I pointed out recently, the Jyllands-Posten cartoons aren’t the only images too disturbing to print in US newspapers.
