I found myself shaking my head in frustration and disbelief this morning.
It’s almost too much! The hypocracy of the Democratic Party leadership, the befuddled responses of the Republican leadership, the absurd behavior of Jimmy Carter at a funeral, the implications from black leaders across the country that I (a white guy) don’t like/appreciate black people, Muslim conservatives/extremists (pick your adjective) throwing temper tantrums in the streets, Hilary Clinton’s shameless two-faced tactics to pander and win votes, etc, etc, etc.
As my grandfather used to say, “Sometimes, I just don’t know…” That’s it. No wisdom after that statement. It was his way of saying, “Sometimes, life is just filled with sh_ _ and you just have to do what you can to try not to step in it.”
In need of a lift, I visited an online destination of solace where I could recharge and lift my spirits. No, I didn’t go to Bible Gateway to read a psalm or proverb, though that would probably have been a good idea.
Instead, I went to the Wittenburg Door and spent 3 minutes laughing as I read over this Emergency Script for the 700 Club. It is short and silly and probably in bad taste. I’m sure Pat Robertson has already prophecied that the Door will be infected with a horrible virus (internet/software, not syphilis/gonorrhea) and disappear off the world wide web.
For me, it was a quick breath of funny air that reminded me to laugh once in awhile, especially when my Muslim neighbors down the street have been eyeing my collection of Danish flags that I have hung from my balcony.
