So the days of the Cartoon Protest rage on (and on and on and on).
I must say that I am really curious about where all this outrage, anger, frustration and righteous indignation has been hiding over the last few years.
Saddam Hussein and his cronies were responsible for stealing from, oppressing, beating, raping, torturing, dismembering, and murdering hundreds of thousands of Muslims over the years they were in power, and yet there was no Islamic outcry over how the Iraqi people were treated.
Daniel Perle, a reporter for The Wall Street Journal, was doing his job as a reporter when he was kidnapped, held prisoner, and then butchered. I guess I missed the Islamic outcry over how an innocent reporter and civilian had been murdered in the name of the “religion of peace.”
Among others, Nick Berg was taken captive and then beheaded as his murderers videotaped the entire, brutal scene. The tape, when released to the public, echoed with the screams of the man being butchered like a lamb in a slaughterhouse. There have been many others who have suffered a similar fate. Where have the mass protests been? Where have the groups of outraged peaceful Muslims been staging demonstrations to stand up against such brutality?
In Iraq, countless innocent Muslim men, women and children have been killed by Muslim extremists trying to disrupt the changes occuring in that country. Suicide bombers, car bombs, roadside bombs,…They used to be aimed at military personnel, but now anyone is fair game. Muslim or not, military or not, Iraqi or not. It doesn’t seem to matter to the terrorist. They just want to be killing people. How come there haven’t been massive riots of peaceful Muslims protesting the fact that non-Iraqi “insurgents” have decided it is their job to decide what is best for Iraq, while they are also killing innocent Iraqi citizens in the process?
Islamic fundamentalists in Afghanistan have attacked schools and have poisoned, beaten and even killed girls attending those schools, all because of their belief that women should not be educated. Why are there no protests about that in the streets of Egypt or Saudi Arabia or Jordan?
Draw a picture of Mohammed and BAM!!!! World-wide protests and violent demonstrations spring up like weeds in a garden. How SMALL is Islam’s god and his prophet, anyway, if they can’t even take a few jabs from some newspapers?
Christianity has been taking a beating over the last 30-40 years in nearly every aspect of media, newspaper reports and op/ed pieces, editorial cartoons, television shows, movies, song and rap lyrics, music videos, popular fiction, etc, etc, etc.
And yet I don’t see mobs of Christians out in front of the cameras, throwing fits and destroying buildings. You don’t see Christians out there burning flags or throwing gasoline bombs or calling for the downfall of an entire nation! Again I ask, how small is the god of Islam and his prophet and how small is the religious faith of these people when they can’t handle a few single-frame cartoons?
I would hate to see what would happen if someone made a movie portraying Mohammad as a homosexual, or if someone created “art” by placing a copy of the Koran in a jar of elephant urine!
Oh, never mind! That’s already been done, but to a different religion.
