With Barack Obama’s desire to sit down and talk with countries like Iran, North Korea and Syria, I’m just curious how he plans on dealing with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The latest from the supreme nutjob of the Middle East is this:
“I must announce that the Zionist regime (Israel), with a 60-year record of genocide, plunder, invasion and betrayal is about to die and will soon be erased from the geographical scene…Today, the time for the fall of the satanic power of the United States has come and the countdown to the annihilation of the emperor of power and wealth has started.”
I just can’t help but be curious about WHAT Obama thinks he can do if he has the opportunity to speak/negotiate with Ahmadinejad. Does Obama really think that he is THAT good?
The last week or two have brought about the discussion of appeasement in Obama’s foreign policy paradigm. The speech that President Bush gave to the Knesset in Israel utilized this quote from William Borah:
‘Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.” William Edgar Borah (Republican Senator), 1939
With history providing 20/20 hindsight, the absurdity of Borah’s statement is obvious. Given Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s most recent statement, I sure would like to know HOW exactly Obama expects to dialog with an admitted Muslim extremist who would like nothing more than to bring about the destruction of Israel and the U.S. At this point, Obama stands to look and sound just as ridiculous as William Borah, or worse!
