In September of last year, I wrote about a guy named Steve Munsey, “pastor” of Family Christian Center in Indiana. This guy is more rough, more oily, and overall much more disturbing and even more frightening than Benny Hinn (who appears to be “Pastor” Munsey’s mentor). When I first caught Steve Munsey, he was broadcasting from Jerusalem and was teaching about the Jewish Day of Atonement and how that can translate into being blessed by God, both materially and financially, if Christians would simply give large monetary gifts to his ministry.
In short, it was such a load of b.s. that I won’t even go into it here. Check out the other post for the horrific details.
So a couple days ago I caught the last few minutes of “Pastor” Munsey, who now appears to be a regular fill-in for Benny Hinn during the “This is Your Day” broadcast on TBN. This time around, Munsey was speaking about the “seven blessings of the Passover” that can be ours if we “obey God with our passover offerings” and give Munsey the money.
Here is the list of the “Seven Blessings of Passover” as enumerated by “Pastor” Munsey. I shouldn’t have to do anything else but give you the list. The disgusting fabrication of spiritual snake oil should be obvious.
Hold on tight because here we go:
1. God will assign an angel to you.
2. God will be an enemy to your enemies.
3. God will give you prosperity.
4. God will take sickness away from you.
5. God will give you a long life.
6. God will give you increase in your life.
7. God will give you a special 12 month blessing
To make matters worse, at the end of the show during the wrap-up (when they try to push “Pastor” Munsey’s book), the announcer declares:
“Your Passover offering of $1000, $500, $200 or the significant amount God lays on your heart will position you to receive these blessings.”
So if I GIVE to Munsey or Hinn, I have positioned myself to receive the 7 blessings? That’s all I have to do? I must say that “Pastor” Munsey MUST have some AMAZING connections with God if he can guarantee THAT kind of payoff in exchange for someone writing a check!
I can’t help but wonder how it is that these men seem to have no fear of the God they claim to serve?
