NPR Has a Cokie Roberts Exception to the Rule about Comparing People to Terrorists

John on October 21, 2010 at 2:23 pm

What are the odds that on the day after NPR fires Juan Willams for admitting some discomfort around Muslims because of 9/11 and the Muslim connection to terrorism, Cokie Roberts would have a new column comparing Glenn Beck to a terrorist:

Beck is worse than a clown. He’s more like a terrorist who believes he has discovered the One True Faith, and condemns everyone else as a heretic.

What’s the connection? Well, Cokie Roberts is a senior news analyst at NPR.

So, apparently, it’s outrageous and a firing offense to compare Muslims on an airplane to terrorists, but it’s just fine to compare Glenn Beck to terrorists. No double standard here at all.

Sarah Palin is right. It’s time for National Private Radio.
