France Under Siege by Unions, Youth

Here’s a decent report on the situation:

The report refers to “anti-government protesters” which might suggest to American ears that this is some french equivalent of the Tea Parties. It’s true that the rioters are upset about bank bailouts, however the French, Spanish and Greek protests are being led by unions and college students or what in this country are known simply as Democrats.

All of this mayhem is over a 2 year increase in the retirement age. We’re going to see a lot more of this from unions who care more about bilking the public for their own benefit than about the solvency of the nation as a whole.
