Started watching this show season one. My wife and I used to really enjoy it. Now they’ve made a new film with the original cast: The first trailer is always a bit clunky. Still, we’ll have to make this a date night.
Here it is: It still doesn’t look good, but it does look a lot more like the show and I like the autojack sound effect. I’m pretty sure I’ll take my daughter at this point. Hopefully it won’t be awful.

Something about that helmet just isn’t working for me. That said, the flash of Racer X looked cool and I laughed at Spritle and Chim Chim in the trunk. And it looks to me like they got the Mach 5 right (though the cars in the trailer looked awfully CGI).
I may have to see this one regardless for personal reasons.

Seriously, the helmet looks REALLY tweeked for some reason and the race scenes look like game animation from 5-7 years ago. I hope the finished product looks better. Hopefully they realize that, since most of the “kids” these days don’t know Speed Racer, they need to be aiming this movie as us “older kids” who grew up with it. The TRANSFORMERS movie did it and it worked extremely well. I’m getting the feeling that this one is going to miss the mark.
