Abortion as the New Environmentalism

Scott on November 25, 2007 at 9:42 pm

This one comes to us from the U.K.’s Daily Mail via Investors Business Daily.

It appears as though, out of devotion to the environment and to the planet that we humans taint with our very existence, the new breed of environmentalist is willing to abort unborn children and undergo sterilization in order to decrease their carbon footprint.

According to Toni Vernelli, a British environmental activist who had an abortion and later had herself sterilized, “children are a sinister threat to the future.

According to Ms. Vernelli, “having children is selfish.

Another environmental activist named Sarah Irving reminisced about how, after a year of dating her partner, “we started talking about sterilization.

HUH? You know, time was when people dated for a while and then started talking about getting married and starting a family. I guess I’m just old fashioned that way.

Irving’s partner, Mark Hudson, goes further and adds to the sweetness of their environmental-oriented relationship:

“In short, we do everything we can to reduce our carbon footprint. But all this would be undone if we had a child. That’s why I had a vasectomy. It would be morally wrong for me to add to climate change and the destruction of Earth. . . . What makes us happy is knowing that we are doing our bit to save our precious planet.”

Whatever, dude.

I am all for the conservation of natural resources, preventing pollution, recycling, etc. These things all make sense.

But come on these people are cracked!
