DNC to Dems: BP is the New Halliburton

Not in the sense that BP has questionable ties to the current administration. On the contrary, the point of this new DNC site is to tie minority Republicans to BP’s oil spill. They seem to be hoping this will lead to a wilding campaign as each of the posters on the site are available in large pdf format. Here’s the style:

Angle is just one of the targets. They also have posters for Michelle Bachmann, Rand Paul, Steve King and of course Joe Barton. Conspicuously absent is the #1 recipient of BP lobbying money in recent years, Barack Obama.
It’s amusing to see the DNC use these faux populist images to attack Republicans. After all, it was their candidate who made this sort of neo-Marxist idolizing popular in the first place. From hope to political hackery in two short years.

Not amusing, but infuriating: the deliberate memory hole about Obama being the biggest recipient of British Petroleum cash during the last 20 years.
Deceit and hypocrisy are a liberal’s stock and trade.
July 12, 2010 @ 3:39 pmBy the way, these are the pricks who build all of these sites. Including the one for the false prophet.

July 12, 2010 @ 4:35 pmLet’s see, Obama received $77,000 from BP and yet he still wanted to shut down all deepwater offshore drilling. How much did BP have to pay Angle and Paul for them to come out and decry the $20B BP escrow fund as a “slush fund” and calling criticism of BP “un-American”? If I were BP I’d really rethink my donation strategy. Why pay Obama when we can get what we want from Republicans for free.
July 13, 2010 @ 7:47 amDCDUDE,
This is the only time in recent memory when a President has asked a company to simply hand over $20B without any legal process involved. That may not be “un-American” but its certainly unusual and possibly unique. It’s not unreasonable to be concerned about the precedent being set, especially given this President’s history with big business.
The sly suggestion of the website, i.e. some Republicans support oil spills! or at least don’t care, is hardly a fair conclusion.
The DNC is in midterm crisis mode. That’s all this is.
July 13, 2010 @ 8:20 amNo less fair than the insinuation that because Obama took $77K from BP (compared to the $750 million he raised overall), he is somehow in bed with Big Oil.
