Wizbang’s annual Weblog awards have started. Bloggers are allowed to nominate themselves for the honor in any of the many categories. I can’t bring myself to do it.
But if someone, perhaps a regular reader, were to nominate us, say for the Best of the Top 3500-5000 category (we’re around #4500 at the moment), we’d be okay with that. And if, after we were nominated, a few regular readers wanted to click over and vote us up a little. I’m just sayin…we wouldn’t hate that.
Are we qualified? Well, let’s put this in perspective. We’re not shooting for Best Blog in the world here. If that were the only category, we wouldn’t bother. But how many other blogs of our general size and ranking have received links from Instapundit (on Iran), Michelle Malkin (on Yearly Kos), HotAir (on Iran, VTech, etc), Pajamas Media (on VTech), Newsbusters (on Time magazine) Hugh Hewitt (on Iran – plus a mention on the radio), Wizbang (on Iran plus Honorable Mention in a weekly caption contest), Smart Christian (several posts), Mere Orthodoxy and many other worthy blogs this year? It can’t be most of them, right? It really can’t.
So a little recognition wouldn’t hurt. And, hey, check the title of this post again.
