Rep. Wasserman-Schultz: Insurance Mandate is Just a “Different Tax Status”

Hat tip to Allah at Hot Air for this clip. This can’t be something she thought up on the spot. Listen to her answer. She rehearsed this:

Is this really the best the people who voted for this can come up with? Allah makes the point in a way I can’t improve upon:

It’s like saying you’re not “required” to pay your taxes because you can of course “choose” not to pay, in which case the IRS will simply garnish your wages and put a lien on your property.

Honestly, I love it that Democrats constantly feel the need to create new euphemisms to hide what they’re doing. Man-caused disasters, overseas contingency operations, and now “different tax status.” You almost have to stand back and just applaud the sheer shamelessness of it.

And of course the equally shameless media will ignore this shocking example of lying to one’s own constituents just like they ignored Sarah Palin’s “death panels” comment. Oh, wait…

If only Palin had warned the country about a “different life status” I’m sure it would have been no big deal.
