Obama: Health Care – Not Jobs or the Economy – is the “Most Important Domestic Priority”

Well, we all knew he believed it, but its still surprising to hear him admit it:

The only reason that we decided to delay this is because the most important domestic priority here in the United States is going to be voted on this weekend or early next week and, uh, I have to be here.

Compare Obama’s view of our priorities with America’s view:

Voters continue to rate the economy as the most important issue regularly tracked by Rasmussen Reports, but the issue of government ethics and corruption takes near equal status this month.

Health care is some 20 points back along with Social Security and Taxes. All three of those come behind the War on Terror/National Security.

In short, Health Reform is about the 4th or 5th most important issue to Americans. It certainly is not “the most important domestic priority.”
