Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI) sat down for an interview with The Hill this week:
The headline of the accompanying article suggests that Ryan has been attracting “political punches” from Democrats, but if anyone has landed a meaningful blow against him, I have yet to see it. In fact, his biggest challenge at this point seems to be that his fellow Republicans in Congress seem reluctant to adopt or advocate his policy ideas.
Ryan represents everything that fiscal conservatives should be standing for. We are going to need leaders who are willing to propose meaningful, if painful, changes to the current system – and not just tell us what we want to hear. I really hope his influence continues to expand heading into this election cycle and the next Congress.
