100 Hours and the Deliberative Executive

John on January 9, 2010 at 7:50 am

Nabbing this from Hot Air. Very well done:

I give the President credit for getting to the right answer…eventually. Frankly, this seems to be a pattern. He did much the same thing with his decision on Afghanistan, i.e. reached a sensible decision but only after an extraordinary amount of processing time.

As the NY Times said just a couple days ago:

Bush felt it in his gut. Obama thinks about it in his head.

The deliberative executive may have advantages, but does seem to leave the President flat footed much of the time.
