Cass Sunstein Thinks VS is “Hateful”

Gateway Pundit linked to this story about Sunstein’s new book:
In his recently released book, “On Rumors,” Sunstein specifically cited as a primary example of “absurd” and “hateful” remarks, reports by “right-wing websites” alleging an association between President Obama and Weatherman terrorist Bill Ayers.
As the blog that discovered the extent of the financial connections between Ayers and Obama, and the fact that their organizations shared office space, I’m going to assume he’s at least partially talking about us (though I suspect he’s thinking primarily of NRO).
For those that don’t recall, last year VS found that:
All told, boards on which Barack Obama sat delivered $1,968,718 to Bill Ayers’ Small Schools Workshop. These same boards granted another $761,100 to John Ayers’ [Bill's brother] Leadership for Quality Education group (and the SSC), which as I’ve noted already funded the Small Schools umbrella group he ran with Bill Ayers.
I don’t know where Sunstein gets off calling this and “absurd” connection. Nearly three million dollars funneled to Ayers’ pet project by boards on which Obama sat and had a voice. That’s a lot of scratch.
Ayers’ own memoir describes Obama as a “family friend.” I guess Ayers didn’t get the message that pointing out such connections is “absurd” and “hateful.”

Of course Michelle Obama and Bernardine Dohrn worked in the same law office in the 80s…
November 25, 2009 @ 10:29 pmI hope you “hateful” people have a very good Thanksgiving!
November 26, 2009 @ 5:40 amCass is just another one of the socialistic appointees of the Obama admin that doesn’t like it when the obvious is pointed out.
November 27, 2009 @ 6:19 amTo this day it amazes me that more people haven’t taken an interest in the “background” of our President and the people he has surrounded himself with in DC.
Ayers is a radical left wing, education professor.
Obama is a neo liberal, pro capitalist, pro free market, pro U.S. empire kind of guy.
They practically have nothing in common.
So, for example, on education there’s this:
November 27, 2009 @ 8:15 am1. Merit pay. Obama FOR. Ayers AGAINST
2. Standardized testing. Obama For. Ayers Against
3. Mayoral control of inner city schools. Obama For.
Ayers Against.
Do you see a pattern here…
Obama is pro capitalist, pro free amrket? LOL. Did I miss something? Did Obamanure have a sudden conversion?
November 27, 2009 @ 10:34 amWasn’t Obama chosen by Ayers to run the Annenberg Challenge in Illinois? Between private and public money, it received over $100 million in grants, IIRC. Is that not a connection that’s far more an indication of their “closeness?” Who’s going to put someone they don’t know–intimately–in charge of $100 million they’ve raised?
If I’m off on this, feel free to correct me. I’m just going by what I remember from Stanley Kurtz’s investigation–but I may have lost a brain cell or two since then.
