[Big content warning on this post. It gets worse the farther you read.]
I was waiting for comment from Dr. Dre, but Snoop Dog is just as good:
“[Rappers] are not talking about no collegiate basketball girls who have made it to the next level in education and sports. We’re talking about ho’s that’s in the ‘hood that ain’t doing sh–, that’s trying to get a n—a for his money. These are two separate things. First of all, we ain’t no old-ass white men that sit up on MSNBC [the cable network home to Imus] going hard on black girls. We are rappers that have these songs coming from our minds and our souls that are relevant to what we feel. I will not let them mutha—–as say we in the same league as him.”
I know Snoop can be eloquent in his own way, but in this case I really don’t know what he’s sayin’. Because you’re black and “feel it” that makes it okay for you to call women ho’s?
Anyway, even though Snoop doesn’t want anyone to make the comparison, I’m making it. We all know what Imus said. Now here’s a little ditty off Snoop’s 2004 album:
Can U Control Yo Hoe
Niggas, get your milla genuine draft, cause its milla time, we about to go hard on these hoes on this one right here.
[soopafly] Can you control your hoe? (You got a bitch that wont do what you say)
You can’t control your hoe? (She hardheaded, she just won’t obey)
Can you control your hoe? (You’ve got to know what to do, and what to say)
You’ve got to put that bitch in her place, even if it’s slapping her in her face.
Ya got to control your hoe. Can you control your hoe?
I went to your house; your girl came in and started cussing you out. You should have slapped her in her face, I wanted to tell you, but it wasn’t my place. I kept it on the low, cause I know you was gonna check that hoe. But instead, you was quiet as a mouse, maybe you started to think it wasn’t your house. Cause she was acting like a nut, you got a kind of bitch that would kick your butt. What kind of pimp holds back? Never met a bitch that a pimp can’t slap, whats wrong with the pimpin’? Why you get a whippin’? All I got to say is this:
Snoop’s right about one thing. Imus is not anywhere close to the same league.
So when does Snoop get dropped from his label? Yeah, right.
