Planned Parenthood Director on Why She Became Pro-Life

Huckabee interviewed former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson:
“When I looked at the screen I saw a baby…I saw a full side profile…At that moment I saw the baby moving and trying to get away from the probe…I thought, it’s fighting for it’s life…It’s alive.”
She goes on to say that if clinic workers saw what she had seen, they would be running out of Planned Parenthood.
Kudos to Abby Johnson for finding her conscience and for having the courage to face the abortion industry and expose how they make their money.

Of course it’s alive. An amoeba is alive.
Yes, it is fighting for it’s life, as any form of life will, when threatened.
Prior to birth, whether it’s a baby or ‘just a fetus’ is wherein the question lies. We all have our beliefs, opinions and hunches about that issue.
At this time, there is no scientific evidence for the existence of the soul which, leaves strictly religious beliefs unsupported within the secular realm of lawmaking. Opinion, regardless of how popular, much less individual ideas, are not sufficient for law making either.
Which leaves us wherein we lie on this issue.
Seeing the ‘baby’ simply clarified for Ms Johnson where her true position resided. As I suspect it would similarly for almost everyone.
Because the deeper issue is not really an issue of what exactly the life within the womb is, but rather what the life within the womb is in the process of becoming, a baby.
That is the reality of the situation.
To change that reality without the profoundest of reasons, such as saving the life of the mother… is to set one’s will against what is, is to literally ‘contend with reality’ and that is almost always a profound mistake and ensures unintended consequences for both the individual and the larger society.
November 9, 2009 @ 10:57 amHeard her interviewed on Rich Buehler’s show last Friday. She mentioned she was sued by Planned Parenthood. Any word on the status of this?
November 9, 2009 @ 12:14 pmThanks!
She said she wasn’t surprised at the restraining order the PP slapped on her because they sue everyone. She’s not afraid of it.
November 9, 2009 @ 1:09 pmGeoffrey,
I agree. The pro-choice movement has been at war with reality for a long time. That’s why they rely on slogans and deception. That’s why they hate the signs showing aborted babies to be…babies. The more people see this in the light of day, the quicker the public will demand the absurd and indefensible law be changed.
Richard,
Haven’t heard about the lawsuit. I heard about a restraining order aimed at getting her to shut up. Doesn’t seem to be working.
November 9, 2009 @ 2:06 pmIt’s also in the process of becoming a toddler. And a teenager. And an adult. And a senior citizen.
All life is a process. The life within the womb is one end of a continuum. It is not any less human than someone in the middle of the continuum. We don’t achieve personhood only after we travel through the birth canal.
