At least 7 of those 11 "reasons" are false rumors spread by his opposition. They only serve to breed distrust of our future President based on inaccurate slander. If those are the arguments you're resorting to, don't even bother trying to influence other people's opinions.

Help me to understand!
When Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese, all Japanese people in the U.S. were looked upon with suspicion. They were taken into custody due to the uncertainty of their loyalty to the U.S. No one disputed its purpose. The security of our country was of utmost importance.
Today this would not be handled in the same way. However, as the result of the attack on New York by Muslim terrorists, anyone with Muslim ties regardless of their age at the time of their exposure, should have required a full investigation before they qualified for any governmental position to assure the national security of our country. Why was this not done and how can we readily accept the following situations with such little concern?
•	Obama’s submission of an illegible and possible fraudulent birth certificate to substantiate his citizenship and identify of his actual parents.
•	Upon request for resubmission, he postpones submitting same even when notified by nine states filing suits against him. Then he arrogantly refuses to respond and fails to meet the specified deadline date until after the election purposely delaying the validation of same.
Anyone else would have been charged with contempt of the court, immediately disqualified, and placed in jail. Any individual who places themselves above everyone else is not the quality of character I would want to have in a Presidential candidate in charge of our country.
Why has Obama been given so much favoritism? We keep hearing about the racial slurs against all those who didn’t vote for Obama, when discrimination against the other candidate is fully promoted. Is it no wonder why we can never become united as a nation!
•	Do the voters have such little regard for the security of their country that they care more about the promises of grandeur they can expect to receive in payment for their vote.
•	Have they become so heavily involved in racial bias that they would vote for anyone of the black African race to substantiate their prejudice against the white race regardless of the penalty to their freedom and security of their country!
•	Has Obama’s access to tremendous campaign funds permitted corruption at the upmost levels of our government ?
•	Is our government afraid that a racial uprising could affect their re- election so they look the other way in the hope that the situation will blow over without any regard to the safety of their country?
•	According to political records (which can be found on the internet), Obama sponsored the lessening of restraints against the financial institutions prior to 2006. Then with the rest of the Democratic Party, who held the majority of votes in Congress during 2006 up through 2008, chose to look the other way when the alarm was sounded alerting Congress of a potential financial eruption involving Fannie Mae and Freddie Max. After the financial crisis finally hit in 2008, why did the Democratic Party decide to place all the blame on the Republican Party as the culprits to disqualify them for re-election in the eyes of the American people thus leaving the Democratic Party off the hook? Anyone not considering this a means of defraud against the Republican Party have no concern for integrity of the potential presidential candidate or affiliated party. If they can’t accept responsibility for their own mistakes, how can we place the responsibility of the security of our country in their hands?
•	While both parties show receiving considerably large contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Max lobbyist, why where three individuals , (Obama, Kerry and Dodd) signaled out to received over $100,000 each from this group? Accepting the individual candidate’s answer without verification reflects you willingness to be deceived at any cost.
•	Why does a payment from Obama’s campaign funds to Acorn for $800,000 to secure voter registration not be scrutinized by their own people? If this does not raise concern by his own people alone, it is cause for concern! Have his people merely become puppets, which will do almost anything to please him without question?
•	How can an unknown individual rise so quickly from a “Joe the Lawyer” position to that of Illinois Senator, to now become a Presidential candidate, with a blatant Muslin name in addition to affiliation with a foreign power and yet not demand a full verification of his origin and ties in the very beginning by the Democratic Party, the FEC and FBI? Had this been properly accomplished by the Democratic Party together with the FEC and FBI, the magnitude of issues being approached now, and a possible racial upheaval could have been avoided. How can one accept such a critical oversight and attempt to defraud the people without criminal charges being filed against Obama and the Democratic Party and anyone else involved?
•	What did the Muslim terrorist mean when they said “they would raise the flag at the White House”? Does that mean Obama will be the one raising the flag on their behalf? Ask yourself that questions without bias if you can!
•	I do not understand why the African American voter, the Democratic Party and other disgruntled voters could not have taken the initiative to request an independent investigation to clear up Obama’s name and all of the controversy when the questions first arose, instead of accepting the candidate’s excuses that the Republican Party is jealous and are making up stories. Such little regard for a potential civil uprising between the black and white American people is inexcusable. Concern for both parties could have avoided a lot of the controversy.
No wonder wars will always be on the horizon. As long as people disregard the opinions of others, fail to properly identify their qualification to a position of high authority, and deliberately refuse to provide quantifiable answers and documentation, yet find it so easy to criticize the other for beliefs other than their own, our country will remain divided. The saying united we stand (I hope will be possible in the future, it certainly is not now), divided we fall (seems to be more prevalent every day when individuals take the easy way out and fall victim to propaganda and the brain washing techniques used throughout this campaign). What is wrong with you people don’t you have a mind of your own? If you did you wouldn’t be so easily influenced and you would want to get more involved and go after the answers. The internet is a great resource for history and contains a lot of information on the functions of our government and how our President, Senators and House of Representatives perform. Shame on those that don’t make the effort to really see what is happening. Then the possibility does exist you would be making a more intelligent decision than listening to empty promises by both candidates.

If you cannot provide answers to the above (supported by actual facts) and take the easy way out, your minds have been corrupted by propaganda and visions of grandeur and have used racial prejudice to guide you.

If you choose to do your own impartial investigation and find in your own mind there are areas that do need further investigations and you decide not to take action (whether it be because of fear of retaliation by your friends, family or piers) then you have not only sold out your own people but your country as well and have the desire to remain part of the conspiracy.

Since our country is in such financial difficulty, anyone believing that additional programs involving education, health care and another stimulus packages will be possible have not gained much knowledge in the workings of our government. Our government cannot continue to write checks for money they do not have. The consequences is that we sell out more and more of our country to compensate for the excessive debt . The government has already sold a number of our toll roads, bridges, highways, closed military sites, an heaven knows what else, to foreign entities. Before long we won’t even have the freedoms we have today.
Those doubting the truthfulness of this information, need only to use their fingers and go into the internet. You may be shocked beyond belief, I was?
Consider the fact that over $5.3 billion has been spent for this year’s presidential and congressional elections. 85% to 90% is provided by big business, industry, organizations, and committees not to mention the lobbyist to secure favors from our political groups leaving only 10% to 15% of bargaining power by the American people. Just how much power do you believe that will provide us with when it comes to legislation that will favor our needs versus those of the above.

In addition, the cost of these campaign contributions must be born by someone, and guess who that someone is, the consumer, you and me. Do you still wonder why our healthcare, energy, gas, food, education, home ownership, automobiles, etc. have constantly been rising? Every four years, the political election with their campaign contributions take place all over again, and the corporate elite throw more money into the ring again.
Fully knowing this, your Senators, House of Representatives and Presidential candidates of both parties make empty promises they know will never be fulfilled. They will throw in a few bones here and there but they will never warrant the sacrifices each of us are making by accepting the out of control spending and bribery that affects us all.

To say that one party over the other conducted a cleaner campaign would be unrealistic. Each used different versions of dirty tactics, one more subtle but just as deadly as the other. I am not sure any campaign over the last 24 years have been that different except for the increase in Campaign contributions secured to purchase the American vote.

It is a shame that the American voter could not demand each candidate merely state what their platform represents and leave it up to the voter to ascertain which one will more adequately provide what they feel is needed by their standards and not that of the political parties. Then the $5.3 billion received in campaign contributions, from big business, industry, organizations and committees and lobbyist alike could be drastically reduced which not only would eliminate the effect of inflation but could curtail the increased cost to consumer prices for each of us.

A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. A traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. A comment made by a Roman Statesman perhaps during the fall of the Roman Empire.

Any citizen, Democratic or Republican alike should want to be sure they have placed the right individual not someone, who is of foreign origin with a Muslin background, even if a citizen by one parent . I cannot remove the picture from my mind of Obama in Muslin garb taken when he was 18-20 years old. Saying he has never been a Muslin and has never practiced Islam leads me to question by his he wearing Muslin garb.

I do not trust this man. The need to avoid infiltration of foreign (potential) enemies from gaining power within the confines of any high governmental office of allowing influence by association with foreign or radical groups should always be our utmost concern over that of keeping in favor with the majority or in appeasing ones appetite for racial conquest. I don’t consider myself a racist as I would have voted for any African American that was in good standing like Powell or Nutter. It’s the blatant disregard for our safety that bothers me when individuals are so eager to put an assumed African American or a black Muslin in the White House at any cost? What are we thinking!

If you have seen this communication, then there is still hope for us for censorship has not been used to stifle the American freedom of speech.

Thank you Carol and Jim. I just have to say to Lauren...
Obama said himself that he wanted to have a better sex education program for kindergarteners, and that may include protection from sexual predators, but it still is sex education.

And Matt....They might actually try to pin it on George Bush seeing as everything is his fault. Anyone who thinks that G.W. hasn't accomplished anything in his 8 years of office should research some of him accomplishments.

John,

You, and some others, have done an admirable job in compiling these handy lists on why NOT to vote for the New Messiah from Chicago's heavy hit politics (where if you're found to be a registered Republican you'll get your tires slashed and your garbage might pile up outside the driveway).

But what is MORE disturbing than all the above (and I say this as a student who didn't do too badly with my own grades in political science and western philosophy)is WHY this is not having any noticable affect. I pondered this today while standing in the cloudy weather after closing the car door.

John McCain surely could have done a better job. Some commentators are doing theirs. The Republicans for their part have not played their cards right and on some issues might as well be singing the praises of illegal immigration and drivers' licenses and free health care and schooling for all, in addition to all the "recently" released stuff about coal CapN' Trade.

And government got larger under Bush and yes Reagan as well. Not good footing to stand on. And we nor the libertarian types nor the social conservatives had more than a timid answer on HOW to ameliorate the abortion or homosexual or other culture contrast issues.

True enough.

But I think the problem here is more profound than any of this critique.

We can muddle through much. And welcome to Muddle Earth, all ye Hobitts. But the populace has decided, for better or worse (probably worse, even though cultures respond to big government differently), that we are to be Sweden. This is what is wanted. Our enemies are like hornets. Leave them alone and they'll leave us alone. No biggie. Right?

Iran is a little itty bitty nation and nuclear weapons will not pose a threat cuz we'll just "merely" blow the Islamic kingdoms into the next Kingdom. No worries, says Obama. Deterrence based on running scared from Iraq will show the rascals.

Or so we're told.

Nothing to worry about in taxing the rich. They deserve it. Spread the wealth around. Never mind the fact that not ONCE has Obama mentioned or been seen inclined to believe in business or ownership issues and the complexities therein. It's all hogwash to his eggheadedness from his days as a fresh radical with the wind to the back about "change."

What better organization than government to run business, tell us how energy policy is to be doled out--and not a few pizzas also?

Free health care for all! Being on a waiting list for 18 months for an MRI is not so bad, right?

We'll never see rationing. OUR experience with bureacratic oversight in health care will be pristine.

Children sing paeans to the "changy-change" in "impromptu" gatherings of schoolkids.

And in what is shaping up to probably be a rather cold winter while global warming's Laodicean hellfire pulls ice from under the cuddly polar bears, who could argue with hiking electric rates?

Drill for oil? HOW DROLL!

Not bad for grandma. Or his illegal aunt for whom the wealth was not spread from one Obama household to another?

And Bill Ayers? Khalidi and the Jew haters who to this day make laughable noises about the destruction of the whole state of Israel? Surely the evidence of bus bombings and seeing Jewish children blown apart in stores and markets means little. No worries there either. Stop the SMEARING!

I point these and more things (like your list) out to people in this kind of mockery and they just glare at me as if I turned purple or asked them how tasty children are.

The point is that no one cares anymore. We had responsibe politics in yesteryear, and that worked in this brief instant of this transformation. But the problem is that responsive politics has had its day in the sun. In following the Euro path we've marched down a road where the choices are no longer questions about "issues" or great ideas or foreign policy, but sumptious handouts and benefits.

Call us when we get back from the beach, the people say. This insulation from reality is what is about to place Obama and his cohorts in power. And once government has this kind of power grab, even IF more conservative chaps grab a rebound off some single issue (most unlikely for the time being), the overall power is eternal. Like plutonium, government intervention in the economy and into personal affects never goes away.

The NEA has again released their many "resolutions"

The National Everything Association, err, I mean, the National EDUCATION Association, now says the following, long story short:

No more guns.

No more vouchers, and sure as hell no more homeschooling. Bad for the union, err, I mean, the kids....

Heather not only has two mommies, your 5 year old needs to know about this also.

Christians are morons.

Deenie is great earth-shattering literature that stands along side Lord of the Rings for all time..

International Law supercedes US law...

And for the other unions and their minions and myrimadons in the media (welcome to alliteration station!), the story is much the same.

Beyond these culture war issues, as they are now derided, there is the simple fact that Person A has more money than Person B. This needs to be corrected. No quarter is given, other than obvious misfortune, to the notion that trying and striving and education and hard work and sweat equity and brains and innovations are the real path to money and practical success. For the Obamanites, just as a meteor wheeling in from space might hit a city and cause horrid misfortune, by contrast some are sitting around the pool one day having a martini and money falls in their lap due soley to their style and panache and charm. That's how you get rich. It falls into the lap.

Fortune. Misfortune. Black and White. Sun and Moon. earth and sky. The Supreme Dialectic sees things just this way.

So does Barack Obama. But he's merely the point man. The harlequin in this play with a stage set by others long ago. From the hippies grubbing for leftover melon rinds at Woodstock to the folk singers who became the political pilgrims in Joe Stalin's early days before the famines and "80 years of bad weather" ruined Soviet agricultural wisdom of another kind of collectivism, this has been brewing for a long, long time.

The American people are very pragmatic. From a philosophical point this is both good and bad. Good in that it has for decades derailed the ideological designs of people of a Marxian bent who never responded well to criticism and avoided direct sales pitches due to not having their own act together on how to present such notions. That is changing, as you see. Bad, in that pragmatism is NOT a real philosophy per se, but a leaching process on the mish mash of other ideas. Often see as "common sense" and ust living through the trials of life, such "common sense" serves one well until the questions are difficult and the moral decisions much more complicated. Pragmatism depends heavily on those wise decisions that came before; cultural, technical, and saavy insights and plain folks morals, and we're running low on all the above. But even good pragmatism is a snake that can turn to bite you.
Need more money? Government is here to help. Having trouble with your mortgage? Not your fault for not reading the contract. Government is here to help.
Think its funny to mock Joe the Plumber and his crybaby concerns about getting rectal probing for asking one too many fresh questions?

We got you back.

We no longer care about any of this. We care about what someone has that we can now get into our pockets with little or no liability on our part. And to see others punished for being superior, or wealthier. And to have government coddle us right down to everyday decisions involving cars, kids, food at the store, and what's on the tube. We have decided we need 350 cable channels and lots of "choice", but not for schools, guns, healthcare, fuel, or food.

John,

You, and some others, have done an admirable job in compiling these handy lists on why NOT to vote for the New Messiah from Chicago’s heavy hit politics (where if you’re found to be a registered Republican you’ll get your tires slashed and your garbage might pile up outside the driveway).

But what is MORE disturbing than all the above (and I say this as a student who didn’t do too badly with my own grades in political science and western philosophy)is WHY this is not having any noticable affect. I pondered this today while standing in the cloudy weather after closing the car door.

John McCain surely could have done a better job. Some commentators are doing theirs. The Republicans for their part have not played their cards right and on some issues might as well be singing the praises of illegal immigration and drivers’ licenses and free health care and schooling for all, in addition to all the “recently” released stuff about coal CapN’ Trade.

Leave them alone and they’ll leave us alone. No biggie. Right?

Iran is a little itty bitty nation and nuclear weapons will not pose a threat cuz we’ll just “merely” blow the Islamic kingdoms into the next Kingdom. No worries, says Obama. Deterrence based on running scared from Iraq will show the rascals.

I am a high school student who had to write an argumentative paper on anything we wanted. The topic I chose was why we as Americans should not vote for Barack Obama. The information that I have is cited and factual. I did a lot of cross referencing. I think anyone who is undecided or for Barack Obama should read this, and hopefully it will open their eyes.

Why not to vote for Barack Obama

The 2008 Presidential Election is right around the corner. Some people are voting for Senator John McCain, some are voting for Senator Barack Obama, and some are still undecided. Choosing one of these men to run our great country should not be taken lightly, but done very carefully. Those voting for Obama and those undecided should take Senator Barack Obama’s stances into consideration.
One of the many reasons Barack Obama should not be voted for is because of where he stands on abortion. This is a very sensitive issue with many Americans. Not only is Obama pro-choice, he also voted against banning partial-birth abortion which is abortion that can take place after the first trimester in pregnancy up until a day before the baby is delivered. Obama strongly criticized the decision upholding the partial-birth ban by the Supreme Court. He also opposed a bill that would give medical attention to infants mistakenly left alive by abortion in the Illinois state Senate (Washington Post). According to abortionist Dr. Martin Haskell who has performed over 1,000 partial-birth abortions, approximately 80 percent are done for “elective” reasons. Many who are pro-choice might try to argue that the fetus feels no pain at this stage. Professor Robert White, director of the division or neurosurgery and brain research laboratory at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine in Cleveland said “the fetus within this time frame of gestation, 20 weeks and beyond, is fully capable of experiencing pain. Without a doubt, this is a dreadfully painful experience for any such infant subjected to such a surgical procedure.” Abortions and partial-birth abortions are both horrible, but partial-birth abortions are dangerous and horrific. If the woman wanted to have an abortion, why wait until the first trimester is over? If Obama has that little regard for a human life, people need to rethink their support for him. Taking a human life is the worst crime that can be committed.
Barack Obama wants to “spread the wealth around”. Joe Wurzelbacher, a plumber from Ohio, was playing ball with his son when he saw Obama in his neighborhood (New York Times). Joe, who was considering buying the plumbing company he worked for, approached him and asked him, “Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn’t it?” (Joe Wurzelbacher)”. Obama answered, “It’s not that I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they’ve got a chance for success too. My attitude is that if the economy’s good for folks from the bottom up, it’s gonna be good for everybody … I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody” (Sen. Barack Obama). “Spreading the wealth around” may sound like a good idea to some, but to others it means not working hard and relying on those with higher incomes for money. We live in America where we have the opportunity to be anything we want to be. Men and women go out, earn money, and are entrapanuers. We should not have a government that takes from one to give to another. Senator Obama contradicts his “spread the wealth around” statement by saying “We need to steer clear of this poverty of ambition, where people want to drive fancy cars and wear nice clothes and live in nice apartments but don’t want to work hard to accomplish these things. Everyone should try to realize their full potential.” (Barack Obama). If America is going to become a country where we spread the wealth around, what would the incentive to work hard be? This is America where anyone can be anything and all they want to be.
One more reason not to vote for Barack Obama is because of his relationships with radical people. William “Bill” Ayers was a leader of a homegrown terrorist group called Weatherman during the 1960’s. Ayers summed up the ideals of the organization by saying “Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home. Kill your parents “(Bill Ayers). In his book Fugitive Days Ayers brags that he “participated in the bombings of New York City Police Headquarters in 1970, of the Capitol building in 1971, and the Pentagon in 1972″ (Bill Ayers, Fugitive Days). Ayers and Weatherman were responsible for thirty bombings that were aimed at destroying the United State’s defense and security infrastructures. Ayers said in 2001 “I don’t regret setting bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough” (Bill Ayers). In his book Fugitive Days, Bill Ayers said on whether or not he might use bombs against the U.S. in the future, “I can’t imagine entirely dismissing the possibility” (Bill Ayers). Even though Ayers admitted to these attacks by saying he was “guilty as sin, free as a bird”, he could not be charged with anything because of improper surveillance. When Barack Obama decided to run for the Illinois Senate in the 1970’s, Bill Ayers welcomed him into his own home, invited neighbors, and helped launch Obama’s campaign. Bill Ayers joined the Woods Fund of Chicago in 1999 and served as director alongside of Obama. Ayers also made presentations to board meetings which were chaired by Obama, and spoke for the Chicago School Reform Collaborative before Obama’s board. Obama and Ayers are neighbors and Obama has spent time in his home, yet Senator Obama says he does not have a relationship with this man and was “ignorant of Mr. Ayers’ past terrorist acts” (Barack Obama). Is this the kind of man we want as president of the United States? Do we want someone who has a relationship with a former terrorist who wishes he would have done more? This is just one of several radical persons who Barack Obama calls his “friends”. Obama said of these relationships “Frankly, when you live the kind of lifestyle that I have, it’s hard to make friends. You take what you can get, and you don’t ask a lot of questions. These guys are the best I could do.” I would hope that our next president could do better.
These are just a few of the many reasons as to why we as Americans should not give our vote to Barack Obama. During his campaign, he has not been clear on where he stands and has not been detailed in any of his viewpoints. He has flip-flopped on so many issues that it’s hard to figure out what he stands for. Obama’s main slogan is “change”. Is this change for the better or the worse? The United States of America is the greatest country in the world. Is change really what we want?

Emily, the only president to raise taxes during difficult economic times was Herbert Hoover. This led the nation into a depression. Obama wants to do the same thing. Please take a remedial class in Economics to educate yourself in these matters.

By the way, four more years of Bush is better than four years of Obama. We could go from bad to worse in a heartbeat. I think you're a young person so there's no need showing the other inconsistencies in your post. I'll give you a pass here - you're probably a victim of our public education system.
